UCP ACS Waiver Program

The Alternative Community Service Program, commonly referred to as “Medicaid Waiver”, is a Medicaid funded program which provides services and supports to allow people with disabilities to allow people with disabilities to live in the community. The program is designed to support and assist individuals in acquiring, retaining and improving the skills and abilities necessary to reside successfully in home and community-based settings. Two basic services available through the waiver are (1) Case Management and (2) Integrated Supports.

Case Management assists the individual in identifying services to meet their needs, helping to locate those services and helping to gain access to the services. Integrated Support is the services provided under the waiver to meet the individual’s needs. These services may include:

• Transportation
• Child & Infant Care
• Psychological (consultation only)
• Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapies (consultation only)
• Nursing (consultation only)
• Adaptive Equipment & Aids
• Environmental Modifications/Physical Adaptations
• Specialized Medical Supplies
• Crisis Intervention
• Supported Employment

Direct Services is coordinated by a desinated ACS Supervisor who is responsible for developing a schedule for UCP employees to provide the needed level of support each individual requires. Staff is selected by the ACS recipient and will provide the following support:

• Supportive Living
• Respite Care

UCP’s professional staff of Case Managers and Supervisors design Integrated Support services to the needs of the individuals served by the organization.
Alternative Community Services are provided throughout the state of Arkansas.
